Pasta Birthday Supppa

My birthday is August 14th and every year I’m lucky to have such an amazing family who always asks me what I want for suppa also known as dinner 🍴, it’s sort of a family tradition that if it’s your birthday you always get what you want for suppa on your birthday 🎉 no matter what. My favorite foods are all pastas 🍝, soups 🍜, chocolate 🍫, & lobster so naturally I’m always going to have 1 if not 2 or more of theses things for food on my birthday 🎉 which I did this year! 😍 For my birthday dinner 🍴 I had pasta 🍝 shells with my Momma’s delicious homemade sauce! 😍😋 It was beyond delicious 😋 as always, And thankfully we’ve had enough for leftovers for the last few days! 🙌🏻

Pasta 🍝 Birthday 🎉 Suppa with My Momma’s Homemade Pasta Sauce:

1-2 lbs Medium Pasta Shells

1.75 lbs ground beef, cooked

1.75 lbs ground Italian sausage, cooked

2 lbs homemade crushed/mushed tomatoes 🍅, drained of seeds

1-2 containers sliced fresh mushrooms, found at the grocery store

1 Yellow bell pepper, sliced & chopp slices in half

1 Red bell pepper, sliced & chopp slices in half

1 Green bell pepper, sliced & chopp slices in half

4-6 celery stalks, chopped thinly about 1 inch or so

2-3 Zucchinis, sliced & chopped into quarters

1-2 medium onions, chopped

5-8 tbsps garlic powder or more if you really like garlic

3-4 tbsps onion powder

1-2 pinches salt

1-2 pinches black pepper

Parmesan cheese 🧀, grated; for garnish

Prep everything that needs to be preped. Crush/mush two pounds of tomatoes 🍅 for the sauce base. Strain to get all the seeds out. Put the crushed/mushed base of the sauce into a sauce pain big enough to hold it all.

Cook the ground beef until completely browned, then cook the ground Italian sausage until completely browned. Once the ground beef and ground sausage are completely browned, put both into the pan that the base to your sauce is in. Stir to combine.

Sauté the veggies individual until all of them – the mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, and celery are somewhat brown a little. Once they’re all sautéed add them to the same pain you did the ground beef. Stirring to combine.

Add in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stirring to combine. You may add more of these seasonings if you’d like, make it to you and your family’s tastes.

This sauce is best if it’s made first thing in the morning so it can summer all day long.

Once it’s getting close to suppa time, cook and drain the pasta 🍝 shells according to package directions.

In a suppa bowl, put the pasta in the bowl than top with the sauce. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.

Serve hot and enjoy! ❤️
